A Warm Afternoon of Music with Laura Snowden

Laura Snowden’s performance was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon—surrounded by families, children, and beautiful music. From the moment she began with her heartfelt arrangement of Black is the Colour, the room was quiet with awe.

She took us on a musical journey through time, from Couperin’s elegant Les Barricades Mystérieuses to Bach’s stirring Adagio and Fugue, the lively Tarantelle by Mertz, and the rich melodies of Villa-Lobos. Her original composition, This Changing Sky, was a highlight—gentle, reflective, and deeply personal. The concert ended on a heartfelt note with The Parting Glass, warmly received by all.

To make the afternoon even sweeter, we celebrated three years of Chicago Artopia with a delicious cake from Weber’s Bakery—a small thank you to our community for growing with us.

It was a joyful and inspiring afternoon, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came out to share it with us!
